89 The Daybreak

1. Vel fecri.
2. Ve leyalin 'aşrin.
3. Veşşef'ı velvetri.
4. Velleyli iza yesri.
5. Hel fiy zalike kasemün liziy hıcrin.
6. Elem tere keyfe fe'ale rabbüke bi'adin.
7. İreme zatil'ımadi.
8. Elletiy lem yuhlak mislüha fiylbiladi.
9. Ve semudelleziyne cabussahre bilvadi.
10. Ve fir'avne ziyl'evtadi.
11. Elleziyne tağav fiylbiladi.
12. Feekseru fiyhelfesade.
13. Fesabbe 'aleyhim rabbüke sevta 'azabin.
14. İnne rabbeke lebil mirsadi

15. Femmel'insanü iza mebtelahü rabbühu feekremehu ve na'amehu feyekulü rabbiy ekremeni.
16. Ve emma iza mebtelahü fekadere 'aleyhi rizkahu feyekulü rabbiy ehaneni.
17. Kella bel la tükrimunelyetiyme.
18. Ve la tehaddune 'ala ta'amilmiskiyni.
19. Ve te'külunettürase eklen lemmen.
20. Ve tühıbbunelmale hubben cemmen.
21. Kella iza dükketil'ardu dekken dekken.
22. Ve cae rabbüke velmelekü saffen saffen.

23. Ve ciy'e yevmeizin bicehenneme yevmeizin yetezekkerül'insanü ve enna lehüzzikra.
24. Yekulü ya leyteniy kaddemtü lihayatiy.
25. Feyevmeizin la yü'azzibü 'azabehu ehadün.
26. Ve la yusiku ve sakahu ehadün.

27. Ya eyyetühennefsülmutmeinnetü.
28. İrci'ıy ila rabbiki radıyeten merdıyyeten.
29. Fedhuliy fiy 'ıbadiy.
30. Vedhuliy cennetiy.

1. By the Dawn

2. By the ten Nights;

3. By the Even and Odd (contrasted);

4. And by the Night when it passeth away;-

5. Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand?

6. Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the �d (people),-

7. Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars,

8. The like of which were not produced in (all) the land?

9. And with the Tham�d (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?-

10. And with Pharaoh, lord of stakes?

11. (All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands,

12. And heaped therein mischief (on mischief).

13. Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements:

14. For thy Lord is Watchful.

15. Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honor and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honored me."

16. But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!"

17. Nay, nay! but ye honor not the orphans!

18. Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!-

19. And ye devour inheritance - all with greed,

20. And ye love wealth with inordinate love!

21. Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder,

22. And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank,

23. And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? 24. He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!"

25. For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict,

26. And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind.

27. (To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

28. "Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him!

29. "Enter thou, then, among My devotees!

30. "Yea, enter thou My Heaven!"

1. Andolsun şafağa.
2. on geceye,
3. çifte ve teke,
4. ve geçeceği sırada geceye.
5. Nasıl, bunlarda bir akıl sahibi için bir yemin (edilir şey) var değil mi?
6. Görmedin mi Rabbin ne yaptı Ad kavmine?
7. Sütunların sahibi İrem'e
8. ki, o ülkeler içinde bir benzeri yaratılmamıştı.
9. Ve vadilerde kayaları kesen (yontan) Semud kavmine?
10. O kazıkların sahibi Firavun'a?
11. Onlar ki o memleketlerde azıtmışlardı.
12. Oralarda bozgunculuğu çoğaltmışlardı.
13. Onun için de Rabbin üzerlerine bir azap kamçısı yağdırdı.
14. Şüphesiz ki Rabbin öyle mirsad ile gözetlemektedir.

15. Ama insan, Rabbi onu her ne zaman imtihan edip de kendiside ikramda bulunur, nimetler verirse: "Rabbim bana ikram etti." der.
16. Fakat her ne zaman da sınayıp rızkım daraltırsa: "Rabbim bana ihanet etti." der.
17. Hayır, hayır, doğrusu siz yetime ikram etmiyorsunuz.
18. Birbirinizi yoksulu doyurmaya teşvik etmiyorsunuz.
19. Oysa mirası dermecesine (helal haram demeden) öyle bir yiyiş yiyorsunuz ki!
20. Malı öyle bir seviş seviyorsunuz ki, yığmacasına!
21. Hayır, hayır, yer üst üste sarsıntılarla düzlendiği zaman,
22. Rabbinin emri gelip melekler saf saf dizildiği zaman,

23. cehennemde ki, getirilmiştir; o insan o gün anlar, ama bu anlamanın ne yararı var ona?
24. Der ki: "Keşke ben bu hayatım için (sağlığımda hayırlar) göndermiş olsaydım."
25. Artık o gün O'nun ettiği azabı kimse edemez.
26. Ve O'nun vurduğu bağ gibi kimse vuramaz.

27. Ey Rabbine itaat eden huzura ermiş ruh,
28. dön Rabbine, sen O'ndan O senden hoşnut olarak!
29. Gir kullarımın içine!
30. Gir cennetime!
